Enhancing beef productivity, quality, safety and trade in Central America
This project addresses the competitiveness of beef value chains in four countries of Central America: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Specific focus is on the contributions made by, and the returns to, smallholder beef farmers. The main objectives of the project are to:
- Improve the productivity of smallholder beef farms
- Make available high quality and safe beef products to low-income consumers
- Enhance beef trade within and between countries in Central America
