USAID learning event promotes joint collaboration to accelerate poverty reduction in Western Kenya
On 13-16 Dec 2016, USAID-funded projects working in western Kenya met in Kisumu for a 4 day USAID poverty learning event. The teams including Kenya Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Project (KIWASH), Financial Inclusion for Rural Microenterprises (FIRM) Kenya, Kenya Agricultural Value Chain Enterprises (KAVES), One Acre Fund, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Africa Lead and the Kenya Innovation Engine. Organised by USAID Kenya and East Africa’s Office of Economic Growth (OEG), the event was about collaboration, building synergies and brainstorming on effective strategies, tactics and tools that can be used to accelerate poverty reduction in the region.
Four teams set out to various USAID-funded sites and activities, in and around Kisumu, to learn current approaches, engage with fellow partners on cohesive and effective strategy, tactics and tools that can be used to accelerate poverty reduction in the region.
