Safe Food, Fair Food work on Uganda pig value chains receives best poster award at conference in Côte d’Ivoire
In early October 2013, several Safe Food, Fair Food project team members presented elements of the rapid integrated assessment on food safety and nutrition at the Africa 2013 Ecohealth Conference in Grand Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire. They were part of a wider team from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) who gave 20 oral presentations during two parallel sessions on risk analysis in ecohealth, as well as five poster presentations.
The work coordinated by Kristina Roesel on food safety in Uganda smallholder pig value chains received special attention. Her poster titled “Assessment of knowledge, attitudes and practices on pork safety among smallholder farmers in Uganda” won best poster presentation at the conference.
Congratulations are in order to Kristina and collaborators for the quality of their work. Promoting our approaches in order to engage with other researchers and organizations doing similar work is an important part of project development.
