Wandera Ojanji joined ILRI as a senior communications officer for the Accelerated Institutional and Food Systems Development project in March 2022. He had earlier joined ILRI in May 2021 as a communications consultant for the Accelerated Value Chain Development project. He is now offering communications support to Kapiti Research Station and the Livestock-Food Systems Development Component of the Sustainable Agrifood Systems Approach for Sudan project. Ojanji has over 20 years of experience in science communications. He previously worked as science journalist with the Standard and Nation Media groups, and staff and consultant for various international development organizations such as Africare, the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CYMMIT), the World Food Programme, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the African Agricultural Technology Foundation, and the ILRI-BecAHub. He holds a master’s degree (communications) from the University of Nairobi’s School of Journalism and a BSc in forestry from Moi University.
