Nils Teufel is an agricultural economist with interests in farming systems and impact assessment within the Policies, Institutions and Livelihoods (PIL) programme. He contributed to research projects on crop-livestock interactions and intensification pathways. In particualre, he is interested in the investigation of how market incentives can accelerate the adoption of innovations and in the assessment of the impact various innovations have on households and communities. He worked on various integrated research projects in South Asia with an emphasis on crop-livestock interactions and dairy production systems while based at ILRI’s office in New Delhi, India from 2006 to 2013, during which time he was also supported by CIM. Subsequently, he transferred to Nairobi and has since strengthened his involvement in adoption and impact assessment research, particularly in regard to technologies developed with the CG, such as the ITM vaccination against East-Coast-Fever or the adoption of planted forages. Nils received his PhD from Hohenheim University in Germany.
