BUILD Uganda launches quarterly newsletter
The Boosting Uganda’s Investment in Livestock Development (BUILD) project inaugural newsletter edition has been published. The newsletter, which will be produced quarterly, is a platform to share project outputs and updates with colleagues, partners, donors and other stakeholder groups.
The BUILD project started in 2019 to promote South-South learning and regional networking and coordination, facilitate alignment with international recommendations and promote capacity development and impact on the ground. This is done through four thematic areas: peste des petits ruminants, Rift Valley fever, antimicrobial resistance and veterinary public health.
In the inaugural edition, read about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the poultry industry in Uganda and improving food safety in Uganda through piloting the nudge theory to change risky practices among Uganda’s pork handlers. Other areas covered include a USD 200,000 procurement of peste des petits ruminants vaccine doses by the Uganda government and updates from a stakeholder workshop for Rift Valley fever players in the region.
