Thanh has experience in forestry research and sustainable development, working with international projects and organizations. He has expertise in building agroforestry models, forest restoration in watershed areas, agricultural value chain development, and gender integration. Throughout his career, Thanh has worked on a variety of forestry and sustainable livelihood development projects in Vietnam, building agroforestry models to help farmers increase their incomes and improve their livelihoods while also protecting the environment. Thanh holds a Bachelor of Science in Silviculture from Vietnam Forestry University in Hanoi, Vietnam (2012) and a Master of Science in Horticulture from Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand (2016).
