Polycarp Onyango

Communications Manager AICCRA / LCR

Polycarp Otieno Onyango is the Communications Manager for AICCRA Kenya / Livestock and Climate Research of ILRI. He has over eighteen years’ experience serving as a Communication Specialist in various regional and international organizations. Before joining ILRI he was the Regional Communications Officer for the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) for six year and was based in Kigali, Rwanda. Prior to that he stationed in Tunis, Tunisia as a full-time communication consultant for the international Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) working for the AfDB in 12 African Countries.

Polycarp was previously with ILRI in the Bio-Innovate Africa project as a Communication Specialist. Locally he has worked for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, CAFOD as a Communication Consultant, a Consultant with the International Budget Partnership Kenya, and a Senior Communications Officer for the Africa Development Solutions, Adeso in the USAID funded REGAL-IR project in Northern Kenya.

Polycarp studied for his Communication Arts (print and electronic media) at Daystar University, graphic design from Graffins College, video editing, infographics and basic animations at the Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI).
