Michael Gashaw works at the International Livestock Research Institute as a Research Associate. In this role, Michael provides technical supervision of all field genebank operations at the three-field regeneration and conservation sites in ILRI Forage GeneBank, Ethiopia.

Michael has spent 15 years working in field regeneration and conservation as a site supervisor and in research associate positions.

Before joining ILRI in 2009, Michael worked at The Ethiopian Agricultural Research Institute and the Afar Regional Government District Agricultural Office.

Michael holds a BSc and BA Degree in Natural resource Management, and Economics respectively. He holds a Diploma from Agricultural College (Plant Science).
