Ljubica Butkovic is an analytical and detail-oriented business developer with extensive experience in the international public sector. She is known for her dynamic leadership style, bringing energy and vision to the teams she leads, and delivering results in some of the world's most challenging environments. Prior to ILRI, Ljubica worked at the Center for International Forestry (CIFOR) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Kenya and Somalia, where she successfully forged strategic partnerships with bi-multilateral development partners, national governments, international and national non-governmental organizations, UN agencies, foundations, and trusts.
Originally from Serbia and Croatia, Ljubica grew up in Uganda and Kenya. She is fluent in English and Serbian-Croatian languages and holds master’s degrees in Conservation Biology from the University of Derby and Security, Conflict and International Development from Leicester University.
