Charles Mensah is an Agricultural Economist with research interests in economics of sustainable agricultural resource and rural development aimed at poverty alleviation and value chain development. His other research interests include climate change and land use, environmental economics, trade and markets, consumer economics, policy analysis and agribusiness management. Charles focuses on foresight modeling in agricultural/livestock systems and value chains to influence policy in the livestock sector. Charles holds a MSc in Agricultural Science and Resource Management, with specialization in Resource and Development Economics from the University of Bonn, Germany and a BSc in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics) from the University of Ghana, Legon. Before joining ILRI, Charles worked with various international organizations including the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), among others. He is currently a Research Officer, Livestock Policy and Foresight at ILRI, and based in Accra, Ghana.
