Alice is committed to advancing knowledge and practices in the critical intersection of food safety, One Health, and antimicrobial resistance(AMR). With a profound passion for safeguarding human, animal and ecosystems health, Alice focuses on researching and implementing holistic approaches to address complex challenges in foodborne illness prevention and AMR mitigation. Her interdisciplinary perspective integrates insights from microbiology, epidemiology, veterinary medicine, and public health to develop innovative strategies for ensuring the safety and security of our food supply chains. Through her academic pursuits and advocacy efforts, Alice strives to promote collaborative initiatives that bridge disciplines and promote sustainable solutions for the benefit of global health and well-being. She is currently immersed in her doctoral research, exploring innovative approaches to mitigate microbial contamination of meat in slaughterhouses in Western Kenya. Her research will inform on feasible hygiene approaches to reduce carcass contamination and inform on the risks associated with consuming contaminated meat.
