Safe Food Fair Food writeshop
Hosted by the colleagues from the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS), a 10-member team from East, West and Southern Africa came to Grand Bassam near Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire for a writeshop from 5 to 9 November 2012.
The main objective of the writeshop was to review and finalize a series of publications that are almost finished (but not yet!). Over 5 days the team reviewed the Safe Food, Fair Food book, and try to come up with a more catchy title (please email Kristina if you have a good suggestion!). We also prepared an outline for an additional chapter to the book on the gender aspect of food safety.

The training manual on participatory risk assessment was revised in detail by the participants and some new modules had to be developed. Finally we also reviewed the project brief and got an explanation from Kristina about the website. More specifically: all of us can make it more interesting and useful by contributing regularly. So here it is my first contribution to the Safe Food, Fair Food blog!
Apart from all the hard work Professor Bonfoh and his team made sure that we also had time to go to the beach and we are planning to go dancing tomorrow and visit a local market to buy some nice Ivorian fabrics on Saturday morning!
