Research Associate - Gender

NGUYEN Thi Minh Phuong is a researcher with 23 years of work in rural sociology. She is interested in gender, livestock, agricultural transformation, cooperatives, lands, villages, and education in rural. Phuong Nguyen protected her Ph.D. thesis at the Graduate Academy of Social Sciences (Vietnam) in 2014. The thesis focused on the tendencies of education orientation for girl and boy teenagers in the context of agricultural transformation in Vietnam rural. 

Phuong Nguyen worked at the Institute of Sociology in the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (2000 - 2021) and undertook courses on scientific research methods and rural sociology for students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (2015-2018), Thang Long University (2011-2013), and Trade Union University (2014 - 2018). Working as an independent consultant for the World Bank (2015-2022), she has experience studying gender issues in childcare, climate changes, resettlement, legal aid, ethnic minorities and social security, transportation, and migration. 

Phuong Nguyen started her career at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) as a research associate on gender in 2022. She has been involved in SafePORK, SAPLING, ONE HEALTH, AsCGG, and MAFRA projects.
