Shaping Africa’s Food Systems through Sustainable Livestock Innovations

Introduction: This session will focus on three critical themes—innovate, accelerate, and scale—to effectively address the challenge of sustainably increasing animal protein production in Africa. We will explore how innovative practices can drive progress, strategies to accelerate their adoption, and approaches to scaling them up while ensuring food security, nutrition, and environmental sustainability.

Session objective: This session will explore and identify effective strategies for sustainably increasing animal protein production in Africa by addressing three critical themes: innovate—discovering and implementing groundbreaking practices; accelerate—speeding up the adoption of these practices; and scale—expanding successful approaches to have a broader impact. 

The session will begin with a keynote address that will set the stage for our discussions, followed by a panel discussion that will delve into these themes.
