Redefining women’s participation in African agrifood systems for accelerated transformation

African Women in Agricultural Research for Development (AWARD) has partnered with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), CGIAR Gender Impact Platform, and CARE International to co-convene a special event at the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 (AFS2024).

This session will focus on a forthcoming report, Women in African Agrifood Systems, which analyzes evidence on women’s roles in African agrifood sectors. The discussions will highlight key findings and recommendations for accelerating gender-equitable food system transformation.
