Livestock in food systems donor roundtable

Two contrasting facts stand out about the livestock sector: while livestock is the fastest-growing and highest-value agricultural sub-sector globally—it is also the most neglected and misunderstood.

This High-Level Livestock Donor Roundtable is being held on the sidelines of Africa's Food Systems Forum (AGRF) 2023 Summit, 5–6 September 2023, to investigate the best ways forward.  Highlighting gaps and opportunities in current livestock funding, this Roundtable aims to advance partnerships and commitments for strengthening the transformation of Africa’s food, land and water systems through the continent’s manifold and rapidly expanding, livestock systems.

This private/invite-only event will bring together major stakeholders in the future of African livestock—practitioners, researchers and funders—to discuss practical, evidenced-based ways to bring about better livestock systems, without which we will fail to advance the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
