Abdrahmane Wane

Regional Representative for West Africa

Abdrahmane Wane is a senior development economist at the Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD) in Kenya. He is also a CIRAD-ILRI joint appointee to strengthen the partnership between these two research institutions with the goal of develop ing innovative research activities in the livestock sector in Sub-Saharan Africa, Mongolia, and Argentina.

His research interests focus on development economics, economics of pastoralism, cattle market analysis, price volatility, and transmission, and risk assessment.

He holds a Ph.D. in development economics from the University of Paris.
