ILRI’s Tarawali to speak on livestock and sustainable development at Edinburgh
Shirley Tarawali, assistant director general for the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), will be speaking on the role of livestock in sustainable development at the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security in Edinburgh, Scotland on Wednesday, 19 February 2020 at 4 pm local time (7 pm East Africa time). The talk, titled ‘’til the cows come home: a well-worn path or a new trajectory? Exploring why livestock matter in sustainable development’ will focus on how to transform food systems to feed 10 billion people in the next few decades in ways that are sustainable, healthy, inclusive and efficient.
The talk is free and open to the public.
The Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security, at the University of Edinburgh, is an interdisciplinary hub of research, teaching and consulting expertise, to support decision making to transform agri-food systems and food security.
